You are someone’s gift.
The person I think of when I see those words is my incredible husband. He genuinely is a gift to me. Daily.
There aren’t specific things he has to do or be to fulfil that role. His mere existence in my life is my gift. When he encourages me and lifts me up in moments when I’m racing a hundred miles an hour, he’s a gift that can slow me down.
When we laugh just before bedtime and soon after waking, he’s such a gift – a light at the end of my day and a ray of hope for the morning that follows.
Sometimes, we question why we’ve received something so precious because somewhere deep within, we believe the lie that says we aren’t good enough. But a gift given freely and lovingly doesn’t exist or cease to exist based on our perceived worthiness. It simply is – unconditional and complete.
The beautiful thing about my marriage and partnership is that I get to be a gift to him, too. I am the one he thinks of when reading those same words.
It’s the greatest experience of my life!
