Day 121

“Your purpose is not the thing you do. It is the thing that happens in others when you do what you do.” – Dr Caroline Leaf

How often have you wondered about your purpose? How many times have you heard someone give a motivational speech about finding it? I’ve listened to it countless times and have gone through seasons of questioning my own purpose.

Often, this reflection is directed inward, focused solely on self-discovery. Sometimes, I’ve approached purpose as something that can serve others and benefit those around me. But I had never considered it in the profound way Dr. Leaf articulates.

It’s not simply about serving others or changing the world. It’s about expressing your authentic self and allowing the meaning of that expression to be completed in how it resonates with others.

Purpose is co-created. It requires both the giver and receiver to exist entirely. How beautiful is that? It means we participate in weaving golden threads between ourselves and others, connecting us in ways more meaningful than we could achieve alone.

The path I’m now choosing to walk isn’t just about what I’ll accomplish but about how my actions might bring others’ hopes and dreams into reality.

As our golden threads intertwine, we get to understand each other more deeply, transforming this shared life into a more beautiful space where purpose continuously unfolds between us.
