There is no room for creative thoughts in a mind crowded by judgment. Negative thoughts and stories on repeat are literally shackles, and creativity thrives on freedom.
More wise words from Donavan Barrett.
Negative self-talk is more bulky than we realise. It fills our minds until they are ready to spill over. There is a fine line between being full and overly full—a threshold for how much judgment can exist in our minds.
When we’re consumed by these destructive thoughts, pulling away from the narrative is challenging. I know; I’ve experienced this countless times. But the more we stay in this overwhelmed position, the less creativity and freedom we experience.
It’s a double negative.
I’m learning to choose differently because choosing creativity makes so much more sense. It’s undisputable that choosing to thrive is a better, healthier, and more manageable option.
There are so many better stories we can crowd our minds with. So let’s do it. Let’s clear space for imagination to breathe, for ideas to dance, for possibility to take root.
Every judgment we release creates room for something new to emerge. Every moment we choose compassion over criticism plants seeds of creative potential.
Our minds are like gardens, not courtrooms. What will you grow in yours today?
