Day 144

“One day, you’ll realise no one was really watching, and you could’ve done whatever you wanted.” — The Universe

I love the freedom this quote brings. It makes me shake off all the eyes I think are on me and replenishes the confidence I’ve lost, allowing me to dance however I choose.

It seems silly to box myself in by imaginary judgment or observation. The only loss from doing that is to me.

Doing whatever I want doesn’t mean being selfish or unaccountable to the people I care for. It’s about releasing the expectation that I have to live by rules I perceive others to have authored.

If you lived as if no one was watching, what would you do next? Would you love a bit deeper? Cry a bit harder? Grow beyond the garden walls?

Would you feel confident in yourself just for existing? Would you recognise yourself more clearly, and would your actions change?

This quote also emphasises the importance of rejecting external validation.

All that truly matters is your own view of yourself, whether you smile in admiration at your reflection in the mirror.

All eyes are on me, but those eyes are mine alone, and I’m excited to see the journey that unfolds when I stop caring about the gaze of others.
