Day 153

When I started writing for people’s brands and blogs, I had no idea what I was doing.

I just committed to trying and figuring it out along the way. This was before AI and my paid Grammarly account.

Something in me was awakened, and I fell in love with the process of writing. With the ritual of speaking to myself in my head before typing out a word.

I came to understand that creativity isn’t reserved for the canvas or confined to products of my own making. Creativity began to emerge in my understanding of wordplay and the harmony of crafting something moving.

I started to notice people seeing me as a writer when I thought that title was reserved for a select few. And so, my journey of recognising myself as a writer began. This series is all about the practice and process of writing.

I am in no way claiming to be a great writer, but what I am claiming is to be someone who writes to make sense of myself and the world. I’m a writer in the sense that I’m pursuing what my voice has to offer and how it might inspire others.

I may never write a book, but I will love every moment of forming a sentence on a page and believing in it more than I believe in some of the things I see around me.

Writing found me, and I want to continue exploring because, through this exploration, I find myself and uncover ways of saying what I really mean.
