As I continue my countdown to turning 35, I want to reflect on the love I have for certain people in my life. For the next three days, each daily writing piece will focus on people who fill my soul.
The first is my husband of over 10 years (as of March this year). He’s the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and I adore him.
He’s incredibly clever, funny, and devastatingly handsome. We met in 2012, and my world shifted on its axis. He has played a massive part in shaping the woman I am today, and I love who I’ve become with him.
Every day with him holds new discoveries. Since we met, I’ve been endlessly curious to know him better and see the world through his eyes. He has helped me grow in ways I couldn’t understand at the time but now treasure beyond measure.
He is my best friend and my most important relationship (aside from the one I have with myself). We’ve weathered storms together, and there are years ahead that will bring both joy and challenge. Through it all, I know we will continue choosing each other.
Romantic love is beautifully complex. It grows deeper, demands more work, and yields immeasurable joy. We chose to walk this journey of complexity together, and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect partner to grow old alongside.
Today is about acknowledging this extraordinary love, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude that I get to experience it. I’m thankful for a future with someone as incredible as he is.
I love you.
