“Let the world wobble without rushing to hold it all together.” – The Still Practice
Somewhere along the way, we get taught that we need to be the ones to ensure the world doesn’t collapse—not literally, of course. More accurately, we feel expected to keep other people’s worlds from falling apart.
It becomes this sudden knee-jerk reaction that takes over, and before you know what’s happening, it’s happened again.
You’ve abandoned yourself when you swore you wouldn’t let it happen again.
It’s okay. Be gentle with yourself. This isn’t a moment for judgment or criticism. It’s a spacious moment to see the blind spot—to notice it’s there and become aware of how it shows up.
The uncomfortable part is letting everything wobble while resisting the urge to reach out and try to hold it all together.
I know this sounds as if it should be easy—to simply do something that feels so unnatural. It’s exhausting to have this ongoing internal conversation, and that exhaustion is often overlooked when we discuss these struggles.
But each time we choose not to try to fix everything, we’re healing a part of ourselves that desperately seeks another way forward.
