Day 176

In the rush to say something, we often forget to mean something.

We live with constant noise—social media posts, quick replies, reactive responses, demanding questions. Often, words tumble out faster than thoughts can form, filling silence but creating little substance.

I’ve been guilty of this countless times. Speaking to fill awkward pauses, responding before truly listening, and adding my voice to conversations simply because I could, not because I had something meaningful to contribute.

But lately, I’ve been thinking about the weight of words. How some land heavy with intention while others float past, forgotten the moment they’re spoken.

There’s a difference between communication that clutters and communication that clarifies. Between words that demand attention and words that deserve it.

Spaciousness is the difference between words that fill space and words that create it.

When we pause before speaking, when we choose our words with care, we create room for understanding. We make space for others to breathe, to respond, to feel heard.

This isn’t about speaking less; it’s about speaking with purpose.

It’s about recognising that silence can be as powerful as sound and that sometimes, the most generous thing we can offer is the space between our words.
