Day 34

Don’t live someone else life and call it enough.

There is so much around us that influences how we see ourselves. Each day presents countless opportunities to compare ourselves and to be disappointed when we don’t meet imaginary finish lines we never chose.

Of course, we have all asked ourselves who we really are and embarked on journeys to find the answer. There’s nothing wrong with that exploration.

But what if, in the most mundane moments – sitting at a desk, walking between places, simply sipping water – we intentionally choose to feel good about who we are and who we are continuously becoming?

What if, in a random moment of quiet, we turned inward and whispered to ourselves, ‘I’m proud of you’?

How might that brief interruption in our mental narrative contribute to a deeper understanding of ourselves – to finding contentment in just existing, in doing the ordinary things that make up our days?
