“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ― Anaïs Nin
Sometimes, what we think keeps us safe becomes our entrapment. The familiar discomfort of staying small starts to ache more than the unknown risks of expansion.
I felt this recently – that moment when hiding became heavier than revealing. When the energy it took to remain closed off exceeded the courage needed to open up.
It’s fascinating how nature knows this instinctively. A flower doesn’t question its timing or worry about the perfect moment. It simply responds when the pressure to bloom exceeds the comfort of remaining contained.
We often talk about the courage to change but rarely about the quiet pain of resistance.
The exhaustion of holding ourselves back. The weight of potential left unexpressed.
Perhaps true courage isn’t in the blooming itself but in recognising when it’s time to let go.
