Day 66

Seek first to inspire, not to impress.

This short but wildly powerful sentence by Lisa Nichols struck me deeply today.

We’ve been taught to constantly find inspiration around us, to see amazing people and aspire to be like them. We’ve been asked a million times who our role models are and who we want to emulate.

But what would it mean to live in a way that makes you an inspiration to others? How different would it feel to lead a life encouraging others to love more?

Lisa’s words resonated because today, I was reminded of doing and being who I am out of love rather than trying to impress or convince others I’m worthy of worthiness.

I’m inspired to live in a way that inspires others so they can walk more freely in joy. So they can chase their dreams without abandonment.

Being a “good person” is a construct we’ve all tried to shape and define. But being an inspiration is the most unique gift you can ever give to the world.
