Day 85

“Make three mistakes today and call it research” – tyler_spangler

I love the effortlessness of this quote. It instantly removes the pressure to ridicule myself.

The harsh binary of either doing something right or making a mistake leaves no room for research and learning. But we need space for exploration, for attempts without the crushing weight of perfection.

I want to challenge myself to live more in this mindset because making mistakes, more often than not, feels catastrophic when they happen. They hit me hard—I internalize the shame, guilt, and embarrassment until they corrode my sense of self-worth.

What if I changed this narrative? What if I embraced these mistakes as research and learning instead of immediate self-devaluation?

What if each new mistake became an invitation—to explore more deeply, to create more boldly, and to practice being more loving and gentle with myself?

Perhaps today’s “research” is the first step toward tomorrow’s masterpiece.
