Day 91

Having friends by your side who know you so incredibly well is one of life’s sweetest gifts.

In a conversation with one of these friends last night, she said, “When I’m back from my trip, we’ll get together and plan some healthy and needed family boundaries. I want to do this with you to help keep you accountable.”

It’s uncomfortable thinking about how that planning session will go because I know she will ask the hard questions, but she’ll ask them out of love and respect for who I am. That’s incredibly beautiful.

It’s one thing to ask yourself hard questions and become curious about certain things in your life, but it’s a completely different thing to have someone close to you ask questions that challenge you and push you to be the best version of yourself.

I want to foster more relationships like this. I want to be brave in my friendships and love others with the same courage they’ve shown me – holding up mirrors that reflect who we are and who we could become.

These friendships are rare treasures, built on foundations of trust that can withstand the weight of difficult truths.

When someone sees you completely and loves you anyway – enough to help you grow beyond your own limitations – that might be the purest form of love we can experience in this lifetime.
